Bad Rehab Quality but Property Management was OK
- JohnTheInvestor reviewed 7 years ago
I got into Trenton, NJ because I thought the numbers looked good and it looked like a promising market. Holly Nance Group looked like a good company and I invested through one of their recommendations. At that time, they did property management as well. My first purchase was a duplex with them. I thought their property management fees were quite high. However, the numbers were still in my favor and the tenants stayed in place.
Overall, I wouldn't invest with them again.

Holly Nance group is a scam

In February of 2016 I contacted HNPS and spoke with Will Holly about purchasing a turnkey property to generate some passive income because I was out of work due to a car accident. Not knowing anything about real estate I trusted them to help me. They offered to sell me a property in Trenton N.J for 15k , said the repairs will cost 40k and when completed I could rent it out. After I purchased the house he referred a contractor named Wayne Bessant of New Beginning Real Estate. The contractor told me the house will be done in 30 days and he needed the first payment of 20k and I paid him. A few weeks later he asked for a second payment of 16k and told me the house was almost done. Before I made the second payment I contacted Will Holly to see was it ok to make the second payment. I wasn't able to see the house because I lived in another town so I trusted him to take a look for me. He said he did a walk through and said it was ok to make the Second payment and I did. After I made the second payment the contractor became hard to contact and had many excuses on why he wasn't able to complete the house. One excuse was the front porch, it needed to be repaired and he needed a architect. Weeks went by without him finding a architect so I decided to hire a architect myself and he charged me $500.The contractor then said he didn't want to repair the porch even though it was in the contract to do so. I eventually hired a different contractor to fix the porch and he charged me $3500. one month turned to six and in July 2016 I decided to drive and see the property for myself. when I got to see the house nothing was done! The contractor didn't do anything! I contacted Will Holly and the contractor and they said they needed 30 more days to complete. I then decided to do some research on the contractor that Will Holly referred to me and discovered that the contractor was a CRIMINAL! He previously had been facing 21 years in PRISON for MONEY LAUNDERING and PHONEY CONSTRUCTION JOBS! I pleaded with this contractor to complete the job and with Will Holly for help. The contractor eventually put my phone number on his block list, I never heard from him again and Will Holly didn't help me at all. It is now December 2016 and I am stuck with a unfinished house that I have to pay taxes on and I lost close to 60k!. I am in the process of trying to sell the house by myself to get at least half of my money back and its not looking like I will be getting that. HNPS didn't help me they hurt me!
